Banff Mountain Photography Competition Grand Prize winner Marten Blumen is known for his commitment and ability to produce quality images in tough conditions. Combining a world-class digital skill-set, an artists eye for light and an inquisitive mind he regularly produces unique outcomes.

Publications including National Geographic Magazine (USA) and New Zealand Alpine Club, and organisations such as Jim Hensons (UK) and FuelVFX (AU) have used his work. He has produced digital effects work for Australian and Hollywood films including ‘Charlottes Web’, ‘Rogue’ and ‘Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow’. His commercial experience includes work on a Superbowl commercial and for clients including Sony, Holden and Siemens.

With over a decade of professional experience and mountain climbing he is at ease in the urban environment or the rugged outdoors. Blumen regularly seeks new images away from his office in Auckland, New Zealand.
