Jason Hosking has always loved the sea. Growing up in the South Pacific's largest Polynesian city, nicknamed the 'City of Sails', he was drawn to the ocean from a very early age. As a youngster, summer holidays were spent swimming and exploring aquatic gardens with his prized mask and snorkel. At age fifteen, before he could drive, Jason had learnt to scuba dive. This helped intensify his curiosity for the natural world, but it wasn't until he was introduced to the sport of surfing that he truly understood how seductive the sea could be.
Nearly twenty years on, Hosking has combined his love of the natural world with a finely tuned photographic eye and his strong, graphic, compelling images are now in demand the world over. His assignments, both personal and commercial, lead him to many remote parts of New Zealand, Australia and Asia Pacific.
