Diederik was born in Holland and immigrated to New Zealand with his family late last century, settling in Christchurch.

Learning his craft the old fashioned way, Diederik assisted for several years before leaving to further his career overseas.

Christchurch eventually became home again; inspired by the stunning beauty and diversity of the landscapes that surrounded him, Diederik established Lightworkx Photography, a team of passionate photography, retouching and production professionals who have also chosen the lifestyle opportunities that NZ has to offer.

Ten years on, working from his city studio overlooking the Avon River, Diederik shoots advertising campaigns all over New Zealand and abroad, working for a wide range of clients including Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Katmandu, DB Breweries, Telecom and NZ Tourism.

Diederik has also become truly kiwi in taking out two of the top New Zealand Photography awards - Advertising Photographer of the Year, and NZ Photographer of the Year.
