Unique, evocative and timeless are words used to describe Darryl’s images. But his technical perfection and ability to capture movement both in and out of the water sets him apart. Constantly pushing the boundaries of underwater photography has resulted in unprecedented success in a highly specialized photographic field.

Darryl builds many of his specialized watertight camera housings, allowing him to take near-perfect split-level images, with great depth of field above and below the water. And, a custom-made remote camera rig allows him to "sneak-up" on timid wildlife, such as trout, and avoid encounters with more aggressive animals, such as sharks.

Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Darryl travels extensively around the globe in search of his award winning pictures, which have been widely published internationally. Darryl’s work has featured in hundreds of advertising campaigns, magazine articles and books (including seven of his own) and he has won dozens of international photography awards.

Darryl is willing to travel anywhere on commissioned shoots and has extensive location knowledge of the South Pacific.
