Cushla Mahoney

Travelling and photographing in over 40 countries from the Middle East to the Arctic Circle, has inspired Cushla's passion for creating telling images and visually writing stories through them. Cushla specialises in people based editorial and advertising work, travel photography and location portraiture. Driven by the magic of photography, the ability to combine image making with her other key loves, people and travel, proves an irresistible and ever stimulating combination. Cushla was a Gold medal winner in the 2004 NZ Professional Photography awards. Being professionally trained and experienced in photography, as well as psychology, means a blend of critical photographic and people skills are applied to every assignment to achieve the desired results. She has been commissioned to photograph such diverse situations as the final intimate moments of a baby’s last breath, raucous crowds at festivals throughout New Zealand, to formal corporate and editorial projects. No people situation is beyond her ability or sensitivity level.
