CREATIVITY MAGAZINE COVER | by Phillip Simpson
Creativity magazine is an influential New York based publication that features innovative people and projects from the creative industries.
Phillip Simpson was recently commissioned to shoot the cover for the annual ‘Directors Special' edition. The subject pictured is leading UK advertising and music video director Dougal Wilson (who was in New Zealand shooting a Coca Cola advertisement for London agency Mother).
The image was created predominantly in-camera, using a combination of a crane, suspension harness and a lot of CO2 - followed by some selective retouching to remove the tangle of wires, ropes and hoses involved.

'BLEEDING' BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN | by Steven Boniface
Colenso BBDO commissioned Wellington based advertising photographer Steven Boniface to create three striking photos for this unique and innovative new road safety campaign.
Each billboard shows one of three beautiful portraits that literally 'bleed' red ink when it rains - providing a stark contrast to the original image that highlights the increased level of danger associated with driving in the wet.
The talent was street cast, as the brief required people who did not look too unusual, but still had interesting qualities.
